PAST SERMONS
No one ever said that the Christian life was easy. In fact, it is not only difficult and hard, it is downright impossible. That is why the Apostle Paul told us that the Christian life must be lived in the strength and the power of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
Notice that this life involves "Faith". Faith involves trust and reliance upon someone bigger than ourselves. When our faith, trust, and reliance upon God is lacking or is weak, the natural result is to question God and His sovereignty over our lives. When we don't fully trust God, we are prone to ask such questions as, Why Me? - Why Now? - Why This? The reason we ask such questions is because we want everything in life to make perfect sense. We want logical answers to all of our questions. As Christians, we must remember that no one ever said that life was designed to make sense. If they did, they were wrong. Just ask Noah, Hosea, Habakkuk, Israel marching around Jericho, and a host of others in the Bible. When we allow "why" questions to dominate our lives, it always results in unhealthy attitudes about God. Asking "why" may cause us to feel betrayed and to question God's love for us. A more accurate question may be to ask "how"? - God, how can I trust and rely upon you more in my life?
In this new three part message series entitled, "Why? - Trusting God When Life Doesn't Make Sense", we will examine "Why Me - Selfishness vs. Sovereignty" (Part One), "Why Now - God's Timing is Always Perfect" (Part Two), "Why This - Bad Things Can Happen To Good People" (Part Three). Join us for this exciting new series. Charles Spurgeon said it best: "When you can't trace God's hand in your life, trust His heart".
